Foggia Airport or Gino Lisa Airport dates back to pre Second World War times. It was used during the war as a training school for pilots. Nowadays it mainly caters for domestic flights to locations such as Bergamo, Bologna, Rome Leonardo Da Vinci, Milan Malpensa, Palermo and Turin. There is also a flight available to Geneva operated by Myair.

Foggia sits on a plane called Tavoliere. This is sometimes referred to as the granary of Italy.  Some sites worth visiting in the city include the Santa Maria de Fovea Cathedral which is known for its association with Saint Madonna of the Seven Veils. Other places worth a look are the Church of the Crosses and the Arch of Frederick the 2nd. There is also an Archaeological Park nearby.

Nearby cities to Foggia include Brindisi, Taranto and Bari. There is a bus service available from the airport to Foggia as well as taxis available for hire.
